THIS ISN'T " MISINFORMED" Opposition. It's facts they are ignoring!!!! Why????

Hey everyone—especially if you're new to this: Douglas County wants to build the Zebulon Regional Sports Complex right on the old Chemours (former DuPont) site in Louviers. Officials like George Teal say it's "cleared—no environmental hazards," safe for kids to play soccer there. Laydon's response to a channel 7 article .

Here is his email response to me directly ( I am shocked I even got a response because I have not in the past )

But the real docs tell a different story. Let me break it down simple, so you can see why there are serious concerns .

2022 CDPHE Letter – They "closed" the site... but conditionally. That means leftover chemicals (nitrates, perchlorate, old explosives junk) are still in the groundwater and soil—low levels now, but not gone. They added a NEUR (like a permanent rule on the deed): No digging without permission, keep fences up, monitor wells. It's not "clean"—it's "safe enough if we watch it forever." What is safe enough for kids and pregnant moms out there cheering for their kids at games ?

January 2026 MEC Approval – This is for removing buried old bombs/shells. They said "go ahead," but you have to send a final report by August 31, 2026—or it's not finished. So even now (April 2026), it's ongoing work, not done.

August 2024 Soil Test (ERO Report) – This one's big. They tested surface dirt and found PFOA (a "forever chemical" from firefighting foam) up to six times higher than EPA safe levels for homes/kids—some spots 100x over! PFOS, lead, PAHs too. They said "more testing and cleanup needed." Commissioners had this before voting yes.

I have a invoice receipt for another test but no test . I have asked the commissioners directly . Nothing

Why hotspots? Old dumping left pockets—rain, wind, animals move stuff around. PFAS sticks to soil, piles up where water or critters stir it. Nothing's been dug out, so it concentrates over time. Wind in our mountains? Dust flies. Prairie dogs burrow? They bring buried toxins up.
Even if the field wasn't on the worst spot—it's right next door. Kids kick ball, breathe dust, touch grass—PFAS gets in lungs, skin. Linked to immune problems, cancer risks. Burrowing animals + high winds = real spread.

Do they know?  Christopher Pratt Assistant County Attorney seems to know based on this email with Sean Owens.

—reports show contamination, restrictions, unfinished work. Yet they spin "mitigated, safe" to push it through. Contracts signed, grading soon.

Then today this surfaces : Unlabeled Drums ??? How did that happen ???  Email and demand answers.

Our kids deserve better than "conditional" hazards.
If you're parents, neighbors—read the docs yourself . Ask questions. This isn't fear—it's facts.
What do you think?
